Throughout the long history of our country, we have acquired a global reputation as the home of Buddhism. Over extensive centuries, we were dedicated to the sacred task of safeguarding the Teachings of the Supremely Enlightened Buddha, and disseminating the Dhamma to the world.

Sri Lanka is unique for committing the immortal words of the Buddha, to writing. In such a background it is proper that we should be in the vanguard to spread the Buddhism to the modern world through the sophisticated medium of Cinema.

When the global community celebrates the 2600th Anniversary of the attainment of Enlightenment by Ascetic Siddhartha, an effort is being made to utilize the heightened awareness to convey the Buddha’s word to the world.

I am extremely happy to give my total commitment to this holy initiative. May Sri Lanka become the Prime Centre of International Buddhist Films.
