The celebration of the Vesak Festival was done on a serene, spiritual scale at the magnificent BMICH complex. The entrance with lotus lanterns spread across the lawn had 28 Buddha statues of the previous Buddhas, arranged by the Shanthi Foundation.
A procession was conducted every evening before the commencement of the event with the symbolic offering of flowers to the Buddha.
The water fountain in the shape of a dagoba engineered by Penthouse & Jinasena group formed a unique backdrop to the surrounding. The stepped podium decorated with oil lamp like lighting with the majestic BMICH main building floodlit attracted the attention of all the visitors, who had an opportunity to experience the wide and varied attractions in a tranquil atmosphere.
The landscaped lawn of the convention centre was ideal resting area for the vast number of visitors to the festival.
