Vesak International Buddhist Film Festival - Sri Lanka

Hollywood actor Jet Li will be among foreign Stars arriving in Sri Lanka to participate in the International Buddhist Film Festival, the Sri Lanka Tourist Board said.The International Buddhist Film Festival which is being held from 18th - 22nd May at the BMICH is set to showcase the best in Buddhist films, photography and arts.Many international Buddhist celebrities have been invited to participate in the festival during the next few of days including Deep Roy Charlie, Allen J. Freedman and Steven Seagal.Renowned Bollywood actress Manisha Koirala has already arrived in Sri Lanka.

Commenting on her visit Ms. Koirala said ' This is my first visit to Sri Lanka ..I am delighted with the warm welcome received'

Jet Li, is a Chinese martial artist, film producer, wushu champion and international film star. He made a name for himself in several Chinese martial arts film before launching his career in Hollywood with a part in the movie 'Lethal Weapon 4' in 1998. His first leading role in a Hollywood film came in 2000’s 'Romeo must die' opposite Hip Hop star Aaliyah.

He has gone on to star in many Hollywood action films, most recently co-starring in 'The Expendables' with Sylvester Stallone and in 'The Forbidden Kingdom' with Jackie Chan."
